Many of you will remember Stacey Keane Blagg from her summer activities with Central Church in 2023. She worked closely with Chris Ney and Lauren Olson Sidford during her weeks here. Stacey preached on Sundays; assisted with Sunday school summer activity planning; and coordinated and hosted Family Liturgical dinner events at Central Church, First Church Ipswich,and Appleton Farms; led the Labyrinth walk event at Central;chaperoned youth group movie nights, hiking the PowWow trail and paddled like a pro on an unforgettable kayak/canoe trip at the Ipswich River Watershed Association.


She has completed her course of studies and her UCC Ecclesiastical Council will beheld on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. You are cordially invited to celebrate this important occasion with her.

CALL TO ECCLESIASTICAL COUNCIL

 

To the clergy, lay leadership, and delegates of the Northeast Association of the Southern New England Conference, United Church of Christ, greetings:

 You are hereby notified and called to assemble as an

Ecclesiastical Council

 

Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 7:00 PM

 

First Church in Ipswich

Ipswich, MA 01938

  

This Council has been called by the Committee on Ministerial Formation

for the purpose of determining the fitness of

 

Stacey Keane Blagg

 

for ordination to the Christian ministry in and on behalf of the

United Church of Christ.

 

The following persons shall have voting privileges at Ecclesiastical Councils:

  1. Officers and members of the Board of Directors;
  2. Members of the Committees on Ministry;
  3. Authorized Ministers who hold standing in the Association;
  4. Lay delegates; (one for every 100 members or fraction thereof, but no fewer than two per church) and
  5. Association representatives to Conference bodies and General Synod delegates.

The following persons shall have voice without vote at Association meetings:

  1. Members in Discernment of this Association;
  2. Clergy without standing who are currently serving an Association church;
  3. Staff and officers of the UCC;
  4. Local church moderators or equivalent officers; and
  5. Other persons may be granted voice at the discretion of the Moderator or upon approval of an appropriate motion.

A quorum shall consist of lay delegates representing nine member churches plus fifteen clergy with standing. For the purposes of determining a quorum, any layperson entitled to a vote shall count toward the representation of that person’s home church.
