Central Congregational Church of Newburyport and the First Church of Ipswich gathered at Appleton Farms for the first of a series of family-friendly mid-week liturgies and dinners, on June 20th. Families attending brought blankets and lawn chairs, and favorite picnic foods to share. The liturgy included Communion, prayers, a short reflection and songs. After liturgy and a shared picnic supper, Ben Wise, livestock manager at Appleton Farms, led the group to meet some of the animals and their babies.
