ADULT EDUCATION
Adult Christian Education activities are held throughout the year. They include Bible studies that are focused on specific books or themes of the Bible, video presentations on contemporary faith issues, studies on challenging personal and social concerns. In the recent past, we have used curricula from Living the Questions and the Thoughtful Christian. We have also had discussions about the significance of worship and preaching.
Women’s Ministry
Central Congregational Church is blessed with a Women’s Ministry that is led by members of the church. They gather regularly to grow in relationship with God and one another. Some of the recent activities have included “Dinner Out” together at local restaurants to enjoy good food, conversation and laughter and zoom lunch break meetings for prayer. Women’s Ministry has also organized book group discussions and day-long retreats on a variety of topics.
Family Dinner ministry
One of the goals of Christian education at Central is to help parents and children talk to each other about issues that really matter. Family dinner ministry is one place where that happens. The event incudes a simple meal together, an interactive worship service centered on a theme like peace or forgiveness, a communion liturgy and a blessing. This ministry is designed for children in elementary school and their parents, but all are welcome. As an added bonus—it’s one night that no one needs to cook at home!
